Anything long that needs full length can still fit in the laptop compartment which has ample space. The Travel Pack 2 is a unisex backpack and comfortable fits people of average height up to 6’6 (just a guess). Then for both pockets, you would have your stuff easy to hand. Instead the "tech" pocket should only go half the way down the bag, and the quick access pocket on the front should give access to all that space from mid way down, with some internal organisation. You don't want to be digging around the bottom of hte bag for your quick access stuff like headphones. The front "tech" pocket goes all the way to the bottom of the bag, very deep. Much rather have a clean main compartment and if I have shoes or wet laundry I can use a plastic bag. Also the only place I saw imperfect stitching - on the inside of the pouch. I tried to wrap it into the pouch at the bottom, carefully and tidily, but it makes the bottom of the compartment looks messed up. The shoe compartment - It gets in the way. If I'm not careful, that is going to break something, because it is snagging at force. The zippers to the main compartment get trapped in the buckle on the compression straps when I am pulling them. Feels a special and high quality, I think it will last a lifetime.
Again compare my Rush24 which was crazy heavy it is meant to be built to last and there's no way my one would have lasted long since the stitching was going to come loose Bear in mind the Rush24 is $100 cheaper but. That will break and then the stitching will come loose and it's bye bye rucksack.) Compare to the 5.11 Rush24 which I bought and returned - the stitching on Rush24 had LOADS of loops and imperfections. (You know where the stitching has a loop that goes up and then back into the bag. For example, ZERO stray loops on the stitching.
